This report covers the activities of the Human Rights Centre of the University of Potsdam (MRZ) of the last ten years. MRZ was established in 1994, being one of the interdisciplinary centres of the University. By 22 November 2001 the Centre merged with the Centre for Studies on Justice and became a so-called central scientific unit of the University of Potsdam. It is now directed by two directors, one being a professor of law, the other a professor of philosphy. Multidisciplinary colloquies are resulting from this co-operation. MRZ"s activities in the field of human rights focus on the conduct and publication of research, the setting up of its library and documentation system, and informing about human rights. In co-operation with the Faculties of Law and Philosophy, the directors and their assistants are engaged in teaching human rights. Am important element of MRZ"s research activities in previous years was the organization of colloquies. Experts in the field of human rights were brought together in order to discuss current issues.
