Really, a book for children where one of them is made into a soldier, causing a bloodshed??

Ich habe die englischsprachige Originalausgabe gelesen: "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"
Siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent away from London during the air-raids (so that dates the setting to WWII), to live with an old Professor in the middle of nowhere. When they explore his huge house, Lucy creeps into a wardrobe only to discover that is does not have a normal back, but instead leads her into the world of Narnia, where she meets a kind Fan called Tumnus. She learns from him that Narnia is under the evil spell of the White Witch, so there is always winter and never Christmas. But when Lucy tries to show the strange world to her older siblings, the entrance is gone, and Lucy is considered to be a liar. Will there be a return to Narnia and a way to fight the White Witch?
I very much loved the style of writing in this book, although I definitely hate it when authors address the readers directly and thus "break" the (sinking into) fiction; but else, I did not like it and would never give to a kid for reading.
Phew. I know this is a book that many love - well, fantasy is not mine - I simply cannot get the point: if the wardrobe is left open, it would become pretty cold within the house? The animals can speak - but not the birds or the bumblebees, at least the insects are just insects, why? You mustn’t close the wardrobe door to be able to return it seems – but that does not matter later? Does one only have access to Narnia if it is raining in the real world? And how come the children do not age living in Narnia for years, but return to the same age and time as when they left – it should be pretty difficult to live as a 10-year-old after having had adult possibilities? The landscaping setup is somewhat off. A place is that small a badger has to creep in - and a child too? Having a main character die and then not, because: magic - well: fantasy = easy way out. Because you can just invent if a story does not go where you want it to, you do not have to stick to logic (my general complaint against fantasy - I want to sink within books that give me the feeling it might be that way, really). And - a book where a child is being made to be a soldier, fight, kill, have blood shed?? Yes, one must consider the time - but as much as I dislike the killing done by the children, it is "of course" only by the boys, as "battles are ugly when women fight". Nope, and nope. I started because I needed a book for a challenge with a witch in it…
I am aware that the story is supposed to have lots of references to Christian themes; resurrection, betrayal to give a way Jesus Christ, and so forth - I did recognize them, but this did help me to like the book any more.
Might someone please tell me if the other Narnia-books are any different??
2 stars mainly because of the violence in a book for young children and because I just do not find the story any plausible at all.
