Content:
A month before graduating from Willowgrove Christian Academy, the principal’s perfect daughter, prom queen Shara Wheeler, kisses Chloe Green and vanishes.
On a furious hunt for answers, Chloe discovers she’s not the only one Shara kissed. There’s also Smith, Shara’s long-time sweetheart, and Rory, Shara’s bad-boy neighbour with a crush. Thrown into an unlikely alliance, Chloe, Smith and Rory follow Shara’s trail of annoyingly cryptic clues, and Chloe starts to suspect that there might be more to this small town – and to Shara – than she thought.
Opinion:
First of all, I need to say that my dear sis @blondes_giftx3 recommended this book to me and I'm very thankful for that. I bought it because of her and didn't regret it at all.
So, after telling you I didn't regret buying it, I want to tell you why this is so. Firstly, there is the exciting storyline. It reminded me of "One of Us is Lying" and "Pretty Little Liars". It was full of lying, intrigues and love triangles. I totally loved the tension being there the whole time. Moreover, the paperchase throughout the book is very exciting too. The thing I liked the most is actually something else. Maybe during the first few chapters this book seems quite like usual ones, but it is actually more special than you may first think. The more I read, the more I realized it was a perfect depiction of the LGBTQ+ community. Considering this point, it is more realistic than any other book I read about this topic.
This is also why I really loved the protagonists. They were so realistic and authentic. I could imagine them walking through our streets and meeting them in real life. They had all their good and bad qualities.
The overall writing style was also pleasant. I totally enjoyed reading the book. It wasn't hard to understand at all, therfore this book bacame a real pageturner.
Conclusion:
All in all, this book is an absolute great mixture of drama, love story, LGBTQ+ community depiction and tension. I would totally recommend this book to everyone loving some or all of these topics!
