First of all, the novel “WE SEE EVERYTHING” is a good young adult novel, because it is about interesting dystopian aspects and has an exciting scenario, which presents a very bleak vision of the future. In addition, the reader thinks about important topics, for example about war and hard living conditions. Exciting topics that are used for example the use of drones and the surveillance.

The author did an excellent job of describing the controversial feelings that is why the reader can empathise with the situation. The novel is structured from two perspectives, which are opposites of each other. There is a alternating between the first person and what the main characters Lex and Alan experience. In any case, it’s well done how the lives of Lex and Alan are linked in a rather unusual way.

Both boys don’t know each other, but are indirectly related with only, Alan seeing Lex through the drone cameras, while Lex is completely unaware of Alan’s existence. In addition, the life of both characters is described well and in detail.

But I have also criticism: the background isn’t explained well, I don’t understand why William Sutcliffe does that. For example, it isn’t known who is responsible for London becoming like it is there. The impoverished outskirts are bombed, people are constantly monitored by drones, but there is a resistance group, but it it’s not properly explained. It’s a little irritating at first, but it’s ultimately what makes the book so appealing.

All in all, the novel has interesting topic and a good structure that’s why I can recommend it.
