How in the world did Nnedi Okorafor do THAT?
How did she create this world and the characters, how did she make all this feel so grande, in that short amount of pages?

HOW??

I love Binti. I love her so much already. And Okwu?!?! AND THE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THEM?!?!

I need to inhale the other books in this like right now.

I hate how much time I let pass between Delilah Green and Astrid Parker. What was I thinking? Am I allergic to joy? To sunshine and literal rainbows?!

I love Ashley Herring Blake's writing just so much, the narrator of the audiobook was also really good.

Astrid Parker. Listen, she is too much sometimes, she is not the easiest to love but SOMEONE'S GOTTA DO IT. I truly love her, she had me shaking my head one moment, and the next I just wanted to wrap her in a blanket and tell her SHE IS LOVEABLE.

Jordan. JORDAN. I am insanely and maybe unhealthely in love with her. She's everything I want to be, tbh.

I loved their story, I love them together. How everything evolved, I would have read 200 more pages of them getting to know each other and slowly falling in love.

I probably mentioned it in the review for the first book but I'm gonna mention it again; I LOVE this group of messy, idiotic gays who all love each other so much. Iris Kelly, I WILL read your story soon, SOON!!!

I liked this but it never got to the I LOVE THIS stage and I hate that, cause on paper this had everything I wanted this story to be.

Great main and side characters, a good story, cuteness with also some heavier topics.

But I just didn't connect with it the way I wanted to.
I was rooting for the characters, what a bunch of gay losers (what's not to love), the relationships (lowkey more invested in the side romance that we only got snippets of), and I truly loved the different dynamics.

I had a good time with it, but this one is not going to stick at all. Glad that it's a stand alone.

netgalley audiobook

Ich glaub ich muss nicht erwähnen, dass ich das Buchcover auf Netgalley gesehen habe und sofort wusste, dass ich das Buch hören möchte. Es ist einfach so schön gemacht.

Ich fand das Hörbuch wirklich richtig schön produziert, mit ein bisschen Musik und mit einem Sprecher, der jede einzelne Figur wirklich zum Leben erweckt hat.

Die Story war auch richtig schön. Mumpelmoff ist wirklich ein wunderbares und schrulliges kleines Wesen, das ich einfach sofort lieb gewonnen habe.

Ich würde absolut noch weitere Geschichten und Abenteuer mit ihm lesen.

I love that this book exists.

Not all the stories were favorites of mine but all of them were enchanting, beautiful, lowkey brutal and deeply unsettling. I can totally see myself rereading these from time to time.

My favorite stories were Ayama and the Thorn Wood, The Witch of Duva, Little Knife, and When Waters Sang Fire.
