Second Chances ? Cielo "Lo" Valdez doesn´t believe in it and after surviving cancer she thinks life is too short to waste it with someone who wronged you. But she didn't count on Aidan, who does everything to prove to her that he's worth it. After being given the chance to become a successful musician two years ago, he left her. Now they're both invited to their sister's wedding and have to spend a lot of time together. Not only does their old problems resurface, but their attraction also rekindles. How will their story end?

My opinion:
A few month ago I read the first of two books of the "Love in Galway" series by Ivy Fairbanks and I loved it. The humor was absolutly my things and it was so good, how the author mixed up a lovestory, drama and important themes. It had a few slow moments, but that didn´t matter, because it had it´s own charme. So I was very curiosed about the story with Lo and Aidan, wich had in book one a very intresting chemistry. It had a few good moments and I liked the scenes with Callum und Lark, but in total it disappointed me very much. The story was very boring, absolutely predictable and the main characters annoyed me most of the time. I didn't understand why they were attracted to each other and found their love story pretty bland.

The story started two years after the short romance of Lo and Aidan and now the two are invited to the wedding of Callum and Lark. On the one hand Lo is looking forward to it, but on the other hand she is very pissed of to spend an weekend together with her ex. I liked the beginning and was very curiosed about the backgroundstory of their relationship and their breakup. Unfortunately, the story barely focused on that and often digressed into countless subplots that barely captivated me and instead made it a boring read and left me frustrated. Although the author occasionally addressed the couple's feelings, she often lingered on trivial details that didn't advance the story. I felt like it often went in circles, and the love story in particular wasn't enjoyable.

But it was just really sweet how Aidan and his family kept playing pranks on each other. I really liked their camaraderie, and the story was great at those points. But that changed when the story switched back to Lo's perspective. I found her very unpleasant, and her whining became quite annoying at some point. In general, I didn't warm to her. Aidan wasn't my favorite character either, but I kind of liked him. Cielo, on the other hand, was very opinionated, snappy, and complained about almost everything most of the time. While I could understand her in certain ways, it still didn't justify her actions, especially since she was only concerned with her feelings. It was a shame that the author didn't even address the relationship two years earlier, so I could barely connect with them and didn't really understand many of the conflicts. Some things were briefly touched upon, but remained vague and bored me. The other characters barely had any room to breathe and the only thing I really enjoyed was the reunion with Callum and Lark.

The writing style was mostly easy to read, but it did have some long stretches, and I often found myself stuck. It wasn't much fun, and I definitely missed the slightly morbid touch of the previous book. It just read like a 08/15 book and offered nothing special.

Conclusion:
I really didn´t need this Continuation. The story was absolutly boring and was nothing special. That wouldn't have bothered me, but it lacked charm and was quite tiring, mainly due to Lo, who I couldn't warm to. While I really liked Aidan and his closeness with his family, the love story didn't captivate me at all, and they had no chemistry. Often, I even wished they weren't given a second chance. I think this will be my last book by this author. While it had a few good moments, overall it wasn't my cup of tea.
